bcb723 The Final Sleep is a band that really covers a wide ranges of styles and influences across "Vessels Of Grief." Some of the other comments touch on the following varied bands as influences: Megadeth, At The Gates, Dream Theater, Slayer, Lamb Of God, etc. What's crazy is that is not too far off. I'd also throw in King's X and Faith No More. Crazy, right?? 3 part harmonies mixed with killer vocals & just clutch inventive songwriting. A beautifully constructed statement by a supremely talented band. Favorite track: Pale Whisper.

JimSim The music is absolutely killer! Personally, I can ALWAYS do without those "monster belching" vocals. Without those, it would bring this to a whole new dimension. Favorite track: Screaming In Silence.
Ioannis Valiakos
Ioannis Valiakos thumbnail
Ioannis Valiakos Progressive melodic death metal with excellent song-writing, catchy vocal melodies and a killer production! An intelligent mix of influences that range all the way from At The Gates, Death (last album) and even Dream Theater. Not your every day metal album, check it out today! Favorite track: Screaming In Silence.
Zachary Moonshine

Zachary Moonshine I'm a fan of songs that open up with lead guitar like Captor Of Sin from Slayer, and many classic songs by Megadeth. That is what i think of during that first minute of Screaming and then it moves into groove riff-oriented territory reminiscent of Lamb Of God but with better vocals! This band kicks ass and this song is an earworm for sure! metaldevastationradio.com Favorite track: Screaming In Silence.

Tom's Reviews I've been fortunate enough to hear this album in its entirety, and I can tell you that every track is as good or better than Screaming in Silence is. There are so many influences to be heard here, and not a one of them is bad in any way. NYS has the best bands in America, and The Final Sleep is top tier NYS metal 🤘 Favorite track: Screaming In Silence.

Screaming In Silence lead: Maloney/Andrews/Maloney A resurrection through memories Once lost and forgotten Now guilty remnants overshadows me Who I was and who I’ve become Still living in deceit and lies Still living with uncertain ties Dreams of her tear me from reality World that holds a fresh new life We were innocent, shy to the touch Why does happiness come with a catch Screaming in silence lead: Andrews/Maloney Still living in deceit and lies Still living with uncertain ties For every spark, a pain sharpens For every new life, a greater consequence This belly of sadness Screaming in silence no one hears the hurt

"A top-shelf mixed-bag of aggressive progressive sounds that seamlessly fuses everything from melodic blackened death to epic traditional metal—both musically and vocally—amidst carefully crafted songwriting that really ought to land The Final Sleep regarded just as highly as whatever "popular" metal fare the wider-reaching promotional machine is feeding to less truly underground-minded listeners these days." - www.aversionline.com/view/the-final-sleep-until-it-ends-track-premiere-interview

"The band utilizes a diverse approach by incorporating dark and light, heavy and melodic, and it all hits like a ten ton hammer of awesomeness." - nysmusic.com/2022/01/10/hearing-aide-the-final-sleep-vessels-of-grief/

"Carrying a wide spread of influences from traditional heavy metal, power, and progressive and merging them with more extreme sounds (such as death and black metal) may not exactly sound like it’s really pushing the envelope but it’s more about the way that the band does the mixing that makes it special." - deadrhetoric.com/reviews/the-final-sleep-vessels-of-grief-self-released/

"Taking elements of melodic death metal, progressive metal, and traditional heavy metal, the band forge these into enjoyable songs that are well-written and hit the spot. The use of three guitarists allows for a compelling depth of melody, atmosphere, and complexity, while classic songwriting focuses the band’s efforts into songs with hooks to spare. The dueling guitars, formidable harmonies, infectious choruses, and multitude of quality metallic parts make for a quite delicious feast." - wonderboxmetal.com/2022/01/30/the-final-sleep-vessels-of-grief-review/

about

The Final Sleep Troy, New York

Smart songwriting, which includes the use of three guitarists, TFS is able to blend clean, melodic sections and three part guitar harmonies with vicious heaviness, to generate a technicality in their work, all while preserving catchy, memorable songs.

Melodic vocal lines blend seamlessly into deep guttural sections and 3 part vocal harmonies.

Melodic, Heavy, Dark, Uplifting and Empowering.
